“The Humanity of Connection” at Jazz at Lincoln Center

Event Fab was honored to partner with Events By Andre Wells to help bring “The Humanity of Connection” to life at Jazz at Lincoln Center. This powerful event celebrated the impact, achievements, and cultural contributions of African Americans, highlighting the technologies, stories, and individuals who connect and uplift communities.

Our team provided event fabrication, custom scenic elements, event design support, furniture rentals, a full LED wall package with live social media integration, and a sleek branded dance floor. Working inside one of New York City’s most iconic cultural venues, we delivered an elevated, modern, and highly polished environment for an evening honoring visionary leaders and trailblazers.

A Celebration of Connection, Culture & Achievement

“The Humanity of Connection,” created by Tanya Lombard of AT&T, was designed as a tribute to the power of connectivity — not just through technology, but through shared culture, history, leadership, and storytelling. Events By Andre Wells curated an evening that honored groundbreaking African American leaders whose work continues to shape industries and inspire generations.

The honoree lineup was extraordinary, including:

  • Cicely Tyson, Emmy-winning icon and trailblazer for Black women in entertainment

  • Michelle Ebanks, President of Essence Communications

  • Angela Rye, political strategist, CEO of IMPACT Strategies, and prominent commentator

  • Wes Moore, bestselling author, social entrepreneur, and CEO of Robin Hood

Our role was to support this vision through sophisticated scenic design, purposeful branding, immersive LED displays, and thoughtful room enhancements that elevated the storytelling experience. Every element needed to feel contemporary, dignified, and aligned with the significance of the evening.

Behind the Build

Bringing this event to life required detailed coordination with Events By Andre Wells and the production team at Jazz at Lincoln Center. We began with a full venue assessment to determine placement for the LED wall, scenic accents, and furniture layouts that would best support the flow of the evening. Our fabrication team created custom scenic components and branding elements aligned with the event’s message and visual direction.

Installation was carefully choreographed to match the venue’s schedule and technical specifications. Our team integrated LED walls for live social feeds, staged VIP seating lounges, and installed the branded dance floor that anchored the space visually. The final environment was elegant, modern, and perfectly suited for celebrating leaders whose stories inspire connection and progress.

The Final Experience

Meaningful. Elegant. Powerful.

Planning & Pre-Production

Planning for this event involved aligning creative direction, scenic requirements, branding needs, and technical elements with both Events By Andre Wells and the Jazz at Lincoln Center team. We developed layout plans for seating, LED position, scenic placement, and custom décor to ensure the space supported storytelling and guest engagement.

Pre-production included creating scenic renderings, preparing LED content specifications, fabricating décor pieces, coordinating furniture delivery, and developing an installation schedule that aligned with the venue’s operations. On-site, our team executed a seamless install that respected the artistic integrity of the space while enhancing it for an impactful evening.
