Country Club–Themed Bar Mitzvah at CURRENT NYC, Chelsea Piers

For this country club–inspired Bar Mitzvah, Event Fab transformed CURRENT at Chelsea Piers into a playful, summer-luxe celebration complete with a custom turf installation, a pool-themed dance floor, tennis court elements, loungers, lifeguard chairs, and immersive décor throughout the venue.

Working alongside M Studio Events, we created a cohesive, high-energy environment that blended resort vibes with elevated event design — perfect for the guest of honor’s vision of a bright, sporty, and unforgettable celebration.

This project highlights our ability to bring theme-driven concepts to life through creative décor, detailed scenic work, large-format printing, and full-room transformation for events across NYC, CT, MA, and RI.

A Fresh, Sporty Vision Comes to Life

This Bar Mitzvah was inspired by the feel of an upscale country club — clean whites, summer blues, bright turf, and sporty details woven throughout the space. M Studio Events brought us in to execute the full environmental transformation: from floor coverings to pool-themed graphics to tennis court–inspired scenic elements.

Before developing any designs, our team walked the venue at CURRENT to understand its layout, ceiling lines, flow, lighting, and opportunities for immersive theming. The overall goal was to create a warm-weather, country club environment right in the heart of New York City — complete with poolside seating, floating décor elements, bold printed graphics, and a massive turf installation that redefined the space.

With the family’s creative vision and M Studio Events’ concepts in hand, we built a fully cohesive scenic plan that blended playful summer vibes with a polished, high-end finish.

What We Designed & Delivered

Event Fab executed a full-room transformation, delivering scenic, printed, and thematic elements that brought the country club concept to life in every corner of CURRENT.

Project Highlights Included:

  • Full custom turf installation throughout the venue

  • Pool-themed dance floor wrap featuring depth graphics for a realistic water effect

  • Lifeguard chairs, custom loungers, floats, and poolside-style seating

  • Tennis court–inspired scenic elements and accent décor

  • Branded signage and thematic moments aligned with the event’s look

  • Lounge furniture groupings styled to match the summer country club aesthetic

  • Custom décor and color-coordinated accents to unify the entire space

  • Close collaboration with M Studio Events for placement, styling, and final design integration

Every scenic feature was designed to enhance the theme while keeping the overall look polished and guest-friendly.

Behind the Build

Bringing this country club concept to life required extensive planning around the venue layout, turf installation strategy, and integration of pool and tennis-inspired scenic pieces. Our team created detailed layout mockups to determine how much turf the space required, where tennis elements would be placed, and how the pool dance floor would visually anchor the room. We developed custom graphics and coordinated with M Studio Events to ensure every detail aligned with the event’s playful but polished aesthetic.

Installation at CURRENT required precise sequencing due to turf placement, furniture staging, décor setup, and custom scenic elements that had to be positioned in harmony with the venue’s architecture. Our crew carefully installed the turf, wrapped the dance floor, and staged loungers, lifeguard chairs, and tennis-inspired components to create a cohesive environment. When completed, the space felt bright, immersive, and perfectly themed for a summer-style celebration in NYC.

Planning & Pre-Production

Our planning process began with venue measurements, turf logistics, and artwork development for the pool dance floor and tennis accents. We refined placement for décor, seating, and scenic elements to ensure the room layout supported dancing, dining, and photos without sacrificing theme consistency.

Pre-production included producing large-format graphics, preparing scenic elements, staging turf, and coordinating delivery timing with M Studio Events and the venue. On installation day, our team executed each step in a structured sequence, ensuring a smooth buildout that brought the country club vision to life exactly as planned.
